BitMind Journal is operated by PrivateAI LLC, based in Green Valley, Arizona. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have regarding your data.

BitMind Journal is a research and journaling tool only. It does not provide investment advice, trading signals, or recommendations to buy or sell any asset.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the minimum information necessary to operate the service:

• Journal entries and conversation history — The text you type in the journal is stored in Cloudflare Workers KV (a key-value database) associated with an anonymous session ID generated on your device. This data is retained for up to 90 days of inactivity.
• Session ID — A randomly generated identifier stored in your browser's localStorage. It contains no personally identifiable information.
• Ticker symbols — If you enter a cryptocurrency ticker (e.g. BTC), it is stored with your session to provide context for your journal.
• Technical request data — Standard web server logs including IP address, browser type, and pages accessed. These are retained by Cloudflare per their standard data retention policies.

We do not collect: your name, email address, phone number, financial account information, or any other personally identifiable information unless you voluntarily provide it.

3. Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not require account registration
• We do not collect payment information
• We do not track your location
• We do not access your device's contacts, camera, or microphone
• We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics

4. How We Use Your Information

Your journal data is used solely to:

• Provide the journaling service — displaying your previous entries when you return
• Generate AI-assisted responses to your journal entries via the Cloudflare Workers AI service
• Enable the encrypted summary feature (encryption occurs entirely in your browser)

We do not sell, rent, share, or otherwise disclose your journal content to any third party for marketing, advertising, or commercial purposes.

5. Encrypted Summaries

When you use the encrypted summary feature, your journal summary is encrypted using AES-256-GCM encryption in your browser before it leaves your device. PrivateAI LLC cannot read encrypted summaries. Only someone with your shared PIN can decrypt them. We strongly recommend never sending your PIN in the same message as the encrypted summary.

6. Third-Party Services

BitMind Journal uses the following third-party services:

• Cloudflare Workers — Application hosting, edge computing, and KV storage. Subject to Cloudflare's privacy policy at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
• Cloudflare Workers AI — AI inference for journal responses. Journal text is processed by Cloudflare's AI infrastructure.
• CoinGecko API — Live cryptocurrency price data. No personal information is sent to CoinGecko. Subject to CoinGecko's privacy policy at coingecko.com/en/privacy.

7. Data Retention

Journal session data is automatically deleted after 90 days of inactivity. You can delete your session data at any time by using the "New Journal Entry" button in the app, which clears your session from our servers immediately.

8. Children's Privacy

BitMind Journal is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Delete your data — Use the "New Journal Entry" button to immediately clear your session data from our servers
• Access your data — Contact us and we will provide information about what data is stored for your session ID
• Opt out — Simply stop using the service. Session data will be automatically deleted after 90 days

If you are a resident of California, the European Union, or another jurisdiction with specific privacy rights, you may have additional rights under applicable law. Contact us to exercise these rights.

10. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit and Cloudflare's infrastructure security for data at rest. However, no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy at this URL with a new effective date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
